We Are Starting Soon!

Hacks and Nuances for Pumps and Flange Fittings

With so many pumps and flanges on the market, this training helps you stay current, feel confident, and better support the families you serve.

Of course, a one hour webinar can't tell you everything you need to know, but it’s a GREAT START in supporting parents as they navigate pumping and flange fitting.

Join my FREE webinar to to see how YOU can bring more confidence and knowledge into your meetings with parents who want to or need to pump.

Don't wait!

Here's What's Included

  • What HACKing means and how to do it (Using "Third-party parts", which adaptors you’ll like to have)
  • Nuances related to nipple measurement/assessment for flange fitting
  • What it means (to me) when the nipple moves “freely” in the flange tunnel
  • What to do when we see color changes, pain or damage with a flange

Who's It For?

If you work with parents who pump or plan to pump (IBCLCs, lactation and breastfeeding counselors, doulas, nurses, midwives, physicians, durable medical equipment company staff, and any perinatal professional), this webinar is for you. Be more prepared to answer questions about pumping when your clients ask you--because they will--as people are using pumps more and more, around the world.

Join me as I go over many things to consider when guiding parents who use pumps.

Now there’s actual data proving a better way to size flanges…and it’s not the old “just add X millimeters” approach.

Find out the responses to these questions:

  • “What are common “hacks”, are they safe, and how can we help?
  • “What are the nuances I should know about when assessing nipple size and flange fit?
  • “Are there settings that I should use during a flange fitting and/or recommend for my clients?

…then this webinar is a must-attend.

What You'll Learn

  • The History of Flanges and Breastpumps - who invented them and why that matters
  • Traditional vs. New Sizing Methods - and why the old method is failing families
  • Flange Market Overview - what options are available for families and professionals to choose from
  • The Evidence Behind the "Smaller Flanges" Approach - first-of-its-kind research
  • How YOU Can Learn How to Better Support Your Clients - an updated approach, using the now-available tools

Why You Need This Guide:

Enhance Client Comfort

Eliminate nipple pain/discomfort with a customized flange fitting, fostering a positive pumping experience.

Boost Milk Supply

Optimize pumping efficiency (duration of the pumping session), which will increase milk yield for some of your clients.

Professional Credibility

Provide evidence-based recommendations that build your clients’ trust and confidence in your care.

There has never been evidence for the “standard” flange sizes, and most of our clients need 13-17mm flanges…it’s RARE to need 18 or larger (they exist, but are not common).

Something Important to Note

Flange size is not one-size-fits-all. Or even two sizes fit all. Gone are those days.

While yes, using smaller flanges can reshape pumping outcomes for your clients—faster results, higher output…there are other aspects to know about pump parts.

WHY?

Because manufacturers are making pumps without enabling all the parts to work together, and other manufacturers are making adaptors…and for many years we’ve been told we can’t “hack” or “Frankenstein” pump parts together…I disagree, but we also need to be careful. We have to consider the:

  • Shape of the flange
  • Material of the flange
  • Settings of the pump
  • Additional tools that might help with pumping comfort
  • Adaptors our clients may need or benefit from using

...and many more aspects!

The pumps on the market vary from each other in many ways! Even within one company there can be many different designs that work differently from each other. Then there are many different hacks and nuances to consider. It’s complicated. Let’s work together to help parents figure this out!

The 3 Core “Secrets” You Need To Know About Flange Sizing

‘One-Size-Fits-Most’ Became the Standard—and It’s Failing Families

The real story behind pump manufacturers’ sizes is that no one seems to have questioned the flange size since two men invented the flange in the early 1800s. There’s never been a study looking at different size flanges–until now!

The Flange FITS™ Approach Outperformed Standard Sizing in Our Study

During this webinar,
you’ll hear the step-by-step breakdown of how we measured, tried different flanges, and observed flange fit for maximum milk output and comfort.

You’ll hear about the surprising “sweet spot”
in flange diameter that makes pumping painless—participants called
it “very comfortable or feels like nothing."

There Are Simple Strategies to Implement This Research in Your Practice Right Away

You’ll hear how to turn your new knowledge into
real-world results without needing fancy equipment or advanced credentials.

What Professionals Are Saying

[After the flange fitting] I was able to pump at a much higher power level than before -- for example, I wasn't able to go higher than 2 or 3 on my Spectra, but now I can go to 9, 10, sometimes 11 with no pain! It's wild! Before it would take many minutes for my letdown, and now it's nearly instant. I don't really know very well how much more milk I'm getting because I wasn't pumping regularly before the fitting because it was so painful and slow. However, I know for certain that it's much faster to get to 4 oz (sometimes less than 10 minutes total both sides while before I was lucky to get to 4 oz even after 20 minutes total). [Now] I feet a lot more in control and I understand more what is happening. So it gave me a lot of confidence and made it seem less...random and painful. Now that I'm back at work this is incredibly helpful and a relief as my baby is relying upon me pumping and I still need to actually get work done.

~ Stephanie

[The flange fitting session] ensured I found the right flange size for yield and comfort. Your consultation also helped be understand what to expect, what effective pumping looks like and how to actually use the pump features.

~ Brandy

I was using a flange that was too big for my nipples and I found pumping uncomfortable. When Jeanette gave me the proper size, I found pumping to be much more comfortable, and I was able to tolerate pumping for a longer period of time. This allowed me to collect enough milk to exclusively breastfeed my daughter, while working full time! Flange fitting changed my breastfeeding experience and allowed me to be successful in breastfeeding my daughter for 16 months (and counting!). I was so nervous to have to pump when I went to work full time, but with Jeanette's expert guidance, we found the right flange size that allowed me to be comfortable while pumping and helped me retain my milk supply.
